Communications Manager

As Communications Manager, Francisco provides a wide range of strategic support, brand strategy management, and marketing communications development.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Francisco was Head of Marketing Communications for Fifth Star Funds, a philanthropic venture capital fund seeking to address the funding epidemic in the United States where only 1% of venture capital is awarded to Black founders. Prior to Fifth Star Funds, he worked in communications for the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.

Francisco earned his undergraduate degree in International Studies and History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently a Master of Business Administration (MBA) candidate within the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Francisco serves as Treasurer for the University of Illinois Latina/Latino Alumni Association (LLAA), a member of Chicago Latinos in Philanthropy (CLIP), and board member of the Grant Park Music Festival.
